Toronto – For the fourth consecutive year, Manulife has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc. This national list recognizes Canadian companies leading their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their teams.

Throughout 2024, Manulife has continued to enhance policies and programs centered around wellness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and fostering a high-performing culture in the hopes of creating an environment where colleagues can be their authentic selves and reach their full potential. Notable programs and experiences celebrated in 2024 include:

  • Psychological Safety: Placed a strong emphasis on psychological safety, holding listening sessions with colleagues to gather feedback on what belonging means to them to help ensure an inclusive workplace.
  • Leading High-Performing Teams: Supported our leaders through tailored learning sessions and robust Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training, including opportunities targeted to supporting the development of women in leadership roles.
  • GenAI: Democratized access to AI-powered tools for 38,000 colleagues, enabling them to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and foster innovation across various departments. These advanced tools are designed to support diverse tasks, from automating routine processes to offering data-driven insights, ultimately empowering our workforce to achieve higher levels of productivity and creativity.
  • Manulife Mobile app: Launched our updated Canadian Manulife Mobile app, which offers an integrated digital experience that combines health, wellness, and benefits so members can improve their health, connect with care, and manage their benefits with ease.
  • Wellness and mental health programs: Raised our benefit limits to address rising healthcare costs, enhancing mental health support by 20%. Each colleague, along with their spouse and covered dependents, can now claim up to $12,000 for mental health services. Additionally, we introduced a virtual health coaching program that offers personalized and confidential one-on-one support.
  • Prevention Clinics: Hosted several onsite prevention focused clinics to provide valuable insight to colleagues on current and potential medical issues including biometric, diabetes, and skin cancer screening, vision tests, and flu shot clinics.
  • Fuel Up Fridays: Continued to provide colleagues with the opportunity to dedicate time on the second Friday of every month to advance their personal development by taking advantage of the Company’s learning platform.
  • Better Colleague Initiative: Invited colleagues to submit their stories of Better, with a select few chosen to share their stories on stage at the Global Colleague Forums in North America and Asia. Additionally, 12 colleagues were invited to participate in an Impact Agenda Adventure in the Philippines, a five-day experience focused on the three pillars of our Impact Agenda.

The Canada's Top 100 Employers project is a national competition in which employers are evaluated by the editors of the Canada's Top 100 Employers list, using eight criteria. The editors speak with thousands of employers across Canada to determine which organizations offer the most forward-thinking HR initiatives. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
