Makati City - Manulife Philippines recently introduced Affluence Gold, a highly affordable single-pay variable life insurance product designed to give policyowners the best possible returns on their investment and added insurance protection coverage.
With a single pay premium option starting as low as PhP 75,000 or US$ 1,500, Affluence Gold was created specifically for people looking for an affordable medium to long-term financial protection instrument that allows them to optimize the potential earnings from their policy.
“The product is perfect for individuals who may have limited funds available or are not comfortable in investing large sums of money in financial instruments but are still interested in investment options that would optimize the return potential of their money,” said Indren Naidoo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Philippines. “And because of its single pay design, Affluence Gold does not tie them down to medium-to-long term financial commitments either.”
Affluence Gold also gives policyowners several investment options from which they can wholly dictate the allocation of their funds into various types of financial instruments, thus affording them the financial flexibility they desire. The investments can be put into a Peso Bond Fund, Peso Stable Fund, Peso Equity Fund and U.S. Dollar Bond Fund. Affluence Gold is available in both Philippine Peso and U.S. Dollar denominations.
Affluence Gold has no medical examination requirements of applicants, subject to company rules.[*] It also features fund switching, wherein a policyowner is able to switch from one investment fund to another to take full advantage of developments in the financial market, as well as top-up amounts and partial or full withdrawals. These features give policyowners complete control over their funds at all times.

Yields depend on interest and foreign exchange rate levels, both of which may fluctuate. Other factors that affect yield include changes in the credit standing of the issuers and changes in the value of the stocks and dividends received. Further, investments of the Funds may provide that their values be determined based on prices or yields of other securities, instruments or foreign currencies, and such provisions may result in negative fluctuations in the value of these investments and, in turn, the Funds’ yields. Thus, the performance of the separate account(s) is not guaranteed and the value of the policy could be less than the capital invested subject to any specified minimum guarantees. THE VARIABLE LIFE POLICYHOLDER SHALL BEAR ALL INVESTMENT RISKS. Past performance of the Funds is not necessarily indicative of future performance. Yields are not guaranteed. Yields indicated are exclusive of charges associated with the variable life policy.
