Tokyo - Please be advised that the following two gentlemen have been appointed/promoted to the Corporate Officer and Vice-President effective on January 1, 2007.
Mr. Masatoshi Edo, who joined MLJ on January 1, 2007, now assumes the position of VP in charge of Wealth Management Pricing & Financial Management. Mr. Edo started his career in the life insurance industry as staff involved in actuarial works and since then experienced a wide range of operations including actuarial, product pricing, accounting, etc. at both domestic and foreign life insurers. Immediately before joining MLJ, he was active as an executive responsible for product development at a foreign life insurance company.
At MLJ, Mr. Edo will take a leadership role in pricing for investment-type products that are one of our strategically important areas for our future growth, as well as planning and management of financial and actuarial operations relating to investment-type products.
Mr. Tadayoshi Otsuka, who joined MLJ in 2004, has been responsible for product pricing as AVP of Product Pricing Department for the last few years and from now on will also cover other operations including product development in the capacity of VP. Prior to joining MLJ, Mr. Otsuka with more than 20 years’ experience in the life insurance industry, had been responsible for a broad range of reinsurance and actuarial operations, as well as taking a lead in reinsurance marketing efforts at a reinsurer in Japan.
