Waterloo - Manulife Financial will sponsor the Montreal Tuques Bleues Celebration and Snowshoe Event that will attract more than 800 participants to a torch-lit snowshoe climb on Mount Royal. The evening event to be held February 22 will raise funds to support Les Amis de la montagne, an organization dedicated to protect, conserve and enhance Mount Royal.
“With more than 650 employees in Montreal, Manulife is pleased to sponsor an event that helps Les Amis de la montagne carry out its mandate to protect such an important cultural and recreational landmark,” says Bruce Gordon, Senior Executive Vice President and General Manager of Manulife Canada.
For 10 years, Les Amis de la montagne has revived an 1840s tradition, when teams of athletes sporting blue toques would gather for the night-time ascension of Mount Royal on snowshoes. Les Amis invite individuals and corporate teams to participate in the Tuques Bleues Celebration and Snowshoe Event to their mission, for current and future generations.
