Manulife Announces New Senior Appointments

Hong Kong — Manulife Financial (stock code: 0945), a Canadian-based leading financial services provider, has announced the appointment of one senior executive in its Asian Division; and Manulife (International) Limited (MIL), a member of the Manulife Financial group, has appointed one senior executive while promoting four senior agency executives.

Tahnoon Pasha has been appointed Head of Investments, Equities, Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, responsible for overseeing Manulife’s Asian (ex-Japan) equity portfolios. Mr. Pasha joins Manulife with nearly 20 years of equity investment management experience. Prior to joining Manulife, he worked for the investment manager of the superannuation fund of the government of Abu Dhabi of United Arab Emirates where he was Deputy Chief Investment Officer for Emerging Asia and Head of Research for Emerging Markets Department. Mr. Pasha holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Karachi in Pakistan. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Kamy Wong has been appointed Assistant Vice President, Marketing and Development, Individual Financial Products (IFP), MIL, responsible for the development and implementation of effective marketing strategies for Manulife’s IFP business in Hong Kong. Ms Wong will also work with the Company’s management team to formulate the strategic direction of the IFP business. Ms Wong was the Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Business Development Department of an international health insurer in Hong Kong before joining Manulife. She brings with her more than 16 years of experience as an insurance professional, specialising in marketing, sales, product development, underwriting and policy administration. Ms Wong holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the Open University of Hong Kong and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute, an Associate of the Life and Health Claims, an Associate of Insurance Agency Administration and an Associate of Customer Service. She has been an active member of the Medical Insurance Association Council from 2001 to 2006.

George Lai has been promoted to Senior District Manager of George Lai’s District in Hong Kong. Mr. Lai joined MIL in 1987 and won the Highest Growth Senior Branch Manager Award of MIL in 2000 and the Highest Recruitment District Manager Award in 2001 and 2003. He was the Company’s SuperStar in 1994. Mr. Lai has been a seven-time MDRT member since 1988 and won the GAMAHK’s International Management Platinum Award from 2001 to 2004 and Diamond Award in 2005. He received the EDAM designation from HKMA and is a Registered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Financial Practitioner. Mr. Lai currently leads a team of more than 200 insurance/financial advisors.

Wilfred Lam has been promoted to Senior District Manager of Wilfred Lam’s District in Hong Kong. Mr. Lam joined MIL in 1983 and was qualified twice as the Million-Dollar Round Table (MDRT) member in 1984 and 2002. He was also the winner of the General Agents and Managers Association of Hong Kong (GAMAHK)’s Career Development Silver Award from 2001 to 2006 and the International Management Diamond Award in 2006. He has been the recipient of the International Quality Award (IQA) for 10 years. Mr. Lam was the Highest Growth District Manager of MIL in 2001 and 2004. He holds the Certified Agency Builder Degree from the Kinder Institute, the Certified Manager of Financial Advisors (CMFA) from LIMRA, the Executive Diploma in Agency Management (EDAM) from Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA). Mr. Lam is a Registered Financial Consultant, a Chartered Financial Practitioner and a member of Chartered Agency Managers Association International (MCAMA). He currently leads a team of more than 170 insurance/financial advisors.

David Li has been promoted to Senior District Manager of David Li’s District in Hong Kong. Mr. Li joined MIL in 1985 and won the Highest Production Senior Branch Manager Award of MIL in 2000 and the Highest Growth District Manager in 2004. He was the Company’s Superstar in 1995 and was qualified as an MDRT member in 1998. Mr. Li was the winner of the International Management Diamond Award in 2006 and the Career Development Silver Award in 2003 and 2006, presented by the GAMAHK. He received the designations of CMFA and Chartered Insurance Agency Manager, both from LIMRA. Mr. Li is currently the Executive Committee Member of the Life Underwriters Association of Hong Kong.

Frank Lau has been promoted to District Manager of Frank Lau’s District in Hong Kong. Mr. Lau joined MIL in 1990 and won the Highest Production Senior Branch Manager and the Highest Recruitment Senior Branch Manager Award in 2006, and also the Highest Growth Senior Branch Manager Award in 2001. Mr. Lau was a repeated winner of GAMAHK’s CDA. He recently won its Silver Award for 2005 and 2006 and was the winner of the International Management Gold Award in 2006. He is a Registered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Financial Practioner. His team currently comprises more than 90 insurance/financial advisors.
