Jakarta – In March 2007, for the first time in its history, Manulife Indonesia’s total assets under management of its unit-linked products exceeded IDR 1 trillion. “We are very proud of this achievement, as it shows the customers’ growing trust in our unit-linked products,” said David Beynon, Manulife Indonesia President Director.
The assets’ growth mainly came from the company’s new unit-linked products and group savings programs. The new products include Equity Protection, Max Link and Max Protection Plan. Each product has unique features to suit customers with different investment needs.1 Under the group savings category, Manulife Indonesia offers two group unit-linked products - Manulife Severance Program Plus (MPPPlus)2 and Manulife Prosperous EmployeePlus (MKSPlus)3. There are five options into which Manulife customers can invest their unit-linked funds: Manulife Money Market, Manulife Dollar Fixed Income, Manulife State Fixed Income, Manulife Corporate Fixed Income and Manulife Equity Fund.
Manulife Indonesia was the pioneer of unit-linked products in the life insurance industry in Indonesia. “Over the past several years, to raise the public awareness on the importance of life insurance, we have been focusing on traditional life insurance products. But now, as investors become increasingly sophisticated and demand alternative instruments to help them diversify their assets, they are looking to unit-linked products such as ours to help them achieve that diversification. We believe this trend is likely to continue as investors seek new ways to build and protect their assets,” added Mr. Beynon.
