Manulife Surabaya celebrates 21st birthday with glittering Olympics–themed ceremony

Surabaya – To commemorate its 21-year presence in Surabaya, Manulife Surabaya Branch Office is inviting loyal customers to its ‘Bringing Dreams to Life’ event. ‘Bringing Dreams to Life’ is Manulife’s Olympic marketing theme, celebrating its status as the exclusive Life Insurance Partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The theme aims to promote Manulife’s firm commitment to helping customers realise their financial and retirement dreams. During the event, the Branch presents awards to its most loyal customers including those who have taken out the most policies.

Mr. Philip Hampden-Smith, Manulife Executive Vice President and General Manager, South East Asia Operations, said: “In 21 years, our Surabaya branch has grown to be an important part of Manulife’s business in Indonesia and today employs more than 550 staff and agents, serving more than 55,000 customers. Our remarkable growth is a tribute to our focus on constantly innovating our products and the way we do business. By continually refining and improving the products and service we provide, we are able to ensure our offering matches the ever-changing lifestyles of our customers.”

Such product innovation is at the heart of Max Protection Plan, a new unit-linked investment with 10-year term life insurance, which provides maximum insurance coverage for a premium tailored to the financial resources of each customer.

Mr. David Beynon, Director President, Manulife Indonesia explained: “Until now, policyholders could not always achieve the level of protection they wanted because they were limited by affordability. One of our aims is to ensure that quality insurance is within the reach of as many people as possible. By introducing this innovative product, many more people can now enjoy the level of insurance protection they require at an affordable price.”

Mr. Hampden-Smith continued: “We have customers who have been with us for many years and today I am delighted that so many are joining us for these very special celebrations. I firmly believe that products such as Max Protection Plan will help us to attract new customers who previously may have considered life insurance to be out of their reach and to cement our position as one of the leading providers in Surabaya’s vibrant life insurance market.”

Joining Messrs. Hampden-Smith and Beynon at the customer gathering event are Adi Purnomo, Manulife Indonesia Vice President Director; Nelly Husnayati, Executive Vice President and Chief Agency Officer; and Patrick Atkins, Assistant Vice President, Agency.
