Manila - Marking its 100th anniversary, Manulife Philippines recently launched a commemorative stamp issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation. The Centennial Stamp depicts the company’s signage atop the pre-war Kneedler Building in Manila, proudly mounted by Manulife’s Manila Agency manager in the mid-1920s. Designed by Manulife artist Renato Lucindo, the stamp features the company’s centennial logo with a stylized Philippine flag, and the company’s guiding principles of commitment, dedication and service to the Filipino.
Closely intertwined with Philippine history is Manulife Philippines’ own. Throughout its first century from when it commenced business in the Philippines in 1907, it has made significant contributions to the nation’s economy. Its ultimate parent being the first foreign company to list on the Philippine Stock Exchange, Manulife has been involved in a series of mergers and acquisitions over the recent years, and has grown to become one of the country’s leading and most profitable life insurance firms. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Manulife Financial Corporation — Canada’s largest and the sixth largest life insurance company in the world — Manulife commits to uphold dedicated service to Filipinos in its second Philippine century.
