Beijing – Manulife-Sinochem Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (MSL), the first foreign-invested insurance joint venture in China, today held a press conference to announce its sponsorship of the Chinese Taekwondo Federation.

Building on the success of the Company’s partnership with Chinese Taekwondo Olympian Ms. Luo Wei, Manulife-Sinochem’s Olympic Ambassador, today’s announcement further demonstrates Manulife-Sinochem’s commitment to support the Olympics and to help bring the Olympic spirit to the Chinese people.

Taekwondo has only been actively promoted in China for the last ten years, but already, the sport has become popular and Chinese athletes have achieved considerable success, including their first golden medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Since then, Taekwondo has become an important Chinese sporting event as the team strives for Olympic glory at the Beijing Games.
