Insurer tops 2007 poll with its Excellent Service, Innovative Products, Contribution to Community and Outstanding Marketing Strategy
Hong Kong — Manulife (International) Limited (MIL) has picked up another prestigious award, the “Capital Weekly Pro Choice Awards 2007” by weekly magazine,Capital Weekly. MIL was named top of its class in insurance, along with 19 other category winners in such fields as banks, consumer finance, fund houses, warrant issuers, hotels and airlines, etc.
Organised by Capital Weekly, South China Media Group’s popular Chinese financial publication, the “Capital Weekly Pro Choice Awards” are distinctions given to “pay tribute to outstanding organizations which have excellent achievements and business outcomes, and/ or have made great contributions to the community”.
Excellent service, innovative products and contribution to the community and outstanding marketing strategy were among the criteria for winning the award, decided upon by a three-way judging system consisting of a panel of government and business leaders, the magazine’s editorial team, readers and members of the public.
Commenting on the prestigious award, Manulife’s Vice President for Individual Financial Products, George Chew said: “After 110 years of doing business in Hong Kong, we have come to understand this market very well, and have built up a durable relationship with it, as evinced by our long history of community involvement. This has fallen under a particularly strong spotlight recently with our official sponsorship of the event that the whole of Hong Kong is looking forward to — next year’s Beijing Olympic Games.”
Mr. Chew continued: “Product innovation to meet changing market needs was another major criterion for this award. In that regard, we are particularly proud of having brought to market an unique investment linked insurance product earlier this year, “Matrix”, which provides total financial solution that caters for customers’ changing needs, and allows customers to pick what protections and investment they need, like ordering food in a cafeteria. Another first-of-its-kind variable-annuity product that we pioneered, the Manulife Secure IncomePlus, has also revolutionised how customers think about their retirement assets.”
“Above all, this award is a validation of the corporate values that underpin everything we do at Manulife — our emphasis on professionalism, our belief in bringing real value to customers, our insistence on integrity, the financial strength we demonstrate, and our effort to make the company an Employer of Choice. If these standards are met, then it is inevitable that they will show through in the level of service and quality of financial protection and wealth management products that we offer our customers.”
